ASIA WILLIAMS

Asia is a Georgia native, growing up in the Stone Mountain/Lithonia area. As a child, she enjoyed her time as a cheerleader for her father's football and basketball teams and playing with her very large collection of dolls with her older sister. Asia's interest in the therapeutic field started at a very young age as she aspired to be like her mother who is an Occupational Therapist. Asia knew it was only a matter of time before she too followed in her mother’s footsteps.

 

During her middle and highschool years, Asia was very involved in her academics and extracurricular activities which would put her ahead in her undergraduate years at Georgia Southern University. As an Exercise Science major, this was the beginning of the road to PT school. Throughout undergrad, Asia would shadow and volunteer at different physical therapy clinics along with work as a front office administrator for two different practices. This opened her eyes to the business side of physical therapy and how she could still make a difference. Asia enjoyed being able to use her analytical skills and attention to detail while still having the ability to engage and assist with patients everyday. 

 

After graduating with a Bachelors of Kinesiology in Exercise Science, Asia jumped right into the field as a PT Technician where she could apply what she’d learned in school while also running the front office of a small clinic near Statesboro, GA. After seven years of living in Statesboro Asia felt the pull to return home with her husband, Anthony and their puppy, Blue. They currently live in the Sandy Springs area. From there, she would continue doing what she loves and help the Atlanta and surrounding communities receive access to PT services. Now as Practice Manager with Functionize, she hopes to help drive the culture and values of the company while engaging with patients on the journey back to an active lifestyle.

 

Asia consistently strives for continuous growth and learning and plans to attend  a Master’s program in Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare. Her goal is to better manage and optimize the daily operations to ensure sustainable growth and excellence in patient care at Functionize.

 

Outside of work, Asia enjoys training her dog, trying different restaurants around Atlanta (usually brunch spots), traveling, and hanging out with friends and family.
